We Be Here
Welcome to Tierra del Fuego, wild, bleak and hauntingly beautiful - shipwrecks, early religious missions and indigenous extinctions contribute to the strange mystique of this end-of-the-world location. Crumbling glaciers, ragged snow-covered peaks, dense pine forest and peat bogs add to the dramatic landscape. The Andes meet the southern ocean and the Atlantic meets the Pacific creating one of the most dangerous and perilous places for sailing and shipping on the globe - the treacherous Cape Horn or Hoorn as the Dutch explorer Schouten named it in 1619.
