Panning for gold was big here in the late 19th century until supplies dried up. However a couple of diehards have decided to tough it out and have one last shot at the dream. One of them lives in this rickety tin lean-to with a camping stove and a few pots and buckets. Even the dog looked nithered (Yorkshire for freezing cold and fed up). I asked how they were doing, so far one rice crispie of gold in the last 6 months. Crack on chaps!
